By Staff | Jul 22, 2010

The Dawson Sanctuary Choir will be featured at the 20th annual Baptist World Congress in Honolulu from July 28 to Aug. 1.

LAHAINA — The Sanctuary Choir of the Dawson Memorial Baptist Church in Birmingham, Alabama, will perform a free concert on the lawn in front of the Baldwin Home on Sunday, July 25.

The performance will begin at 8 p.m. A special Candle Lit Tour of the historic home will coincide with the performance from 6 to 8:30 p.m. For one night only, tours through the home will be priced at $1 per person.

In May 2008, the choir participated in the National Memorial Day Choral Festival Performance in the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts in Washington, D.C. The choir was featured as the opening choir of the concert.

In March 2009, members of the choir partnered with international schools and churches for ten days in Beijing and Tianjin, China.

This year, the choir members have planned this special trip to Hawaii to share their beautiful voices.

Limited seats will be available for comfortable listening. Attendees are welcome to bring chairs or beach mats.

This concert is coordinated by Lahaina Restoration Foundation.
