Since 1997, the San Francisco band — Stephan Jenkins (pictured), Brad Hargreaves and Tony Fredanelli — have recorded three best-selling albums and assembled one career retrospective.

KAANAPALI — The Royal Lahaina Resort will host an intimate acoustic concert featuring popular American alternative rock band Third Eye Blind on Saturday, Feb. 27.

Expected to sell out, the “up close and personal” concert will be held at the Royal Lahaina’s ocean front lawn,

Lahaina band Barefoot Minded will play at 6:30 p.m., followed by Third Eye Blind from 8 to 9:30 p.m.

General admission tickets are $65 per person and Premium VIP seats cost $85.

The Royal Lahaina is also offering a concert and room inclusive package in Run of Ocean accommodations at $275 with general seating or $315 for the premium seating. Concert and room package reservations can be made by calling 661-3611.

Third Eye Blind is best known for two hit singles: “Semi-Charmed Life” and “Jumper.”

The band’s drummer, Brad Hargreaves, said, “Bands don’t get many opportunities to play in Hawaii, so we jumped at the chance. We all love getting to the islands to relax, do some surfing and hang with friends. Getting to play a show just makes it that much better.”

The Royal Lahaina Resort has recently hosted a number of sold out concerts, including The Mick Fleetwood Band and a six-concert series called “Kaanapali Nights,” featuring well-known Island artists from such groups as Grammy-winning HAPA and the Island Rumors Band.
