‘Ulalena holding cast auditions

By Staff | Jan 28, 2010

‘Ulalena is a Hawaiian theatrical production that shares the rich cultural history of Maui and its people.

LAHAINA — ‘Ulalena at Maui Theatre announced an open call for new cast members, including musicians, vocalists, dancers and acrobats.

Auditions will take place Saturday, Jan. 30, from 1 to 3 p.m. at Maui Theatre in Old Lahaina Center. Anyone with questions can call Kipe Ebana at 385-4422.

‘Ulalena has been dazzling audiences from across the world for more than a decade. Auditions are typically held less than once a year, making this month’s tryouts an opportune chance to be part of this first-class production.

The show’s authentic depiction of the islands’ history, combined with emotive music and dance, dazzling acrobatics and state-of-the-art light, sound and stage equipment, invokes the senses and leaves the viewer wanting to know more about the host culture.

It is a quintessential cultural experience for visitors and a touching homage to the Hawaiian people.
