Art and craft classes slated at West Maui Senior Center

LAHAINA — Discover your hidden talents! New students are being accepted for Kaunoa’s introductory art and craft classes.
Everyone ages 55 and better is welcome to enroll today. Call the Kaunoa West Maui office at 661-9432 to register for classes and join the mailing list to receive a complete listing of Kaunoa’s activities.
“Watercolors: Where Do I Start?” will be held Jan. 19 and 26 from 10 a.m. to noon. Instructor Peggy Robertson will show you how to choose between different paints, paper and brushes. Start your own beginner’s kit or use class supplies. Discover how easy it is to paint with watercolors. Class instruction will include hands-on application of various brush stroke techniques and practice in the art of mixing colors. Class fee of $20, which includes some supplies, is payable before class.
“Greeting Cards 101 — Valentine and Birthday Cards” will be held Jan. 20 from 6 to 8 p.m. Show your sweetheart, a friend, or even your grandchild how much you care. Make your own Valentine’s Day card using the latest scrapbooking techniques. No experience necessary — instructor Leonore Amano will bring all the tools and supplies you’ll need. Cost of $5 includes some materials and is payable before class. Class size is limited.
