LAHAINA — Volunteers in the community helped LahainaTown Action Committee stage its annual Holiday Lighting of the Banyan Tree & Snow Festival on Saturday, Dec. 5, in Banyan Tree Park.
The popular Snow Zone for children was coordinated by Steve Moyer, Nelson Hiraga, John Brunold, Butch Soares and Lou Byrd. The snow was made by Valley Isle Seafood and brought to Lahaina in a refrigerated truck.
The Banyan Tree was decorated with lights by Clifford Corniel of Lahaina Restoration Foundation.
Vivian Ichiki, Alice Yoshino, Katherine Snyder, Joyce Ige, Robin Vega and Sue Nealy dressed up the stage.
Many other volunteers, artists and musicians — including Al and Gail Nip of Maui Jam — also contributed to the event.
