LAS featuring art by Tahleh
LAHAINA — Lahaina Arts Society will exhibit recent paintings by Maui artist Eleykaa Tahleh from Dec. 7 through Jan. 3, 2010 in the Banyan Tree Gallery in the Old Lahaina Courthouse.
An opening reception will be held Saturday, Dec. 12, from 6 to 8 p.m.
The title of the exhibit is “Where The Temple Begins.”
Tahleh has created 16 new paintings that explore her connection with the sacred and how it manifests in her life.
She was raised in San Francisco, Japan and Hawaii.
Tahleh first studied sumi-e (Japanese brush painting) at age seven, and continues today to paint with vibrant Japanese Holbein watercolors.
She loves to paint and draws her inspiration from little snippets or moments in her daily life.
Each painting depicts a story inspired from a personal experience and is included with her work.
The show will be available for viewing daily from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
