Brother Noland to perform at Drive-in Movie Theater series

KAHULUI — The MauiFEST Hawaii-MCC Drive-in Movie Theater series continues on Saturday, Aug. 15, with an end of summer bash to benefit Hawaiian Canoe Club.

The event at Maui Community College will feature six films, live music with Brother Noland and ono food booths. Gates open at 6 p.m.

Hawaii Music Award winner Brother Noland has won multiple Na Hoku Hanohano Awards. His song, “Coconut Girl,” was featured at the 2009

Academy Awards in prime time!

Saturday’s films will include “Kung Fu Panda,” “Children of the Long Canoes,” “A Voyage to Lana‘i with Hawaiian Canoe Club,” “Wa‘a Ho‘olaule‘a (Festival of Canoes),” “Ke Ka‘apuni Ho‘onui ‘Ike — Fire March of Awareness,” and “Turtle and the Shark.”

Come to experience the movies on the largest outdoor permanent movie screen in Hawaii and the Pacific Rim.

Travel back in time, Hawaiian-style, for only $5 per person for walk-ins. Admission is $20 for as many adults as you can fit in a vehicle, and keiki under 12 will be admitted free. VIP tickets are $40 for the first four rows.

Serpico’s Italian restaurant and Patti Cakes Bakery will have food booths, along with schools, clubs and canoe clubs.
