Golf Classic to benefit Lahaina Junior Golf

By Staff | May 2, 2019

LAHAINA – LahainaTown Action Committee will host the seventh annual Lahaina Golf Classic on Saturday, May 4, at the Royal Kaanapali Golf Course.

All golfers are welcome to play, with a portion of the tournament proceeds benefitting the Lahaina Junior Golf Association.

A spectacular perpetual trophy for the Golf Classic was carved by talented woodworking artist Paul Kasprzycki, which will be presented at the awards luncheon following the tournament at Roy’s Kaanapali.

The event is a four-golfer scramble tournament, with prizes, food and fun at every hole.

Since 2013, LahainaTown Action Committee has donated more than $30,000 to Lahaina Junior Golf.

The festivities will begin at 8 a.m. with a shotgun start.

Registration is at 7 a.m. with a fee of $150 (Silver Tier) or $200 (Gold Tier), which includes 18 holes of golf on the beautiful Royal Kaanapali Golf Course, golf cart, awards luncheon and prizes for each team.

Gold Tier entry includes prizes for the longest drive (male and female), closest to the pin (male and female), Split the Pot and Beat the Pro.

The luncheon will be held from 1 to 3:30 p.m. at Roy’s with an awards ceremony and silent auction.

LahainaTown Action Committee President Sne Patel said, “This is a unique Golf Classic with many merchants contributing to the fun… games and refreshments on selected holes. Ono grinds provided by Cool Cat Cafe and Bubba Gump Shrimp Co., so bring your appetite and your golf skills. Prizes for every team, so everyone is a winner at the Lahaina Golf Classic.”

A hole in one on a selected hole will win a brand new car sponsored by Jim Falk’s Valley Isle Motors. The public is invited to come join in the fun.
