KIHEI - Goodfellow Bros. Inc. (GBI), a heavy-civil construction company, last week announced the appointment of Chad Goodfellow as chief executive officer (CEO) effective immediately.

"This is very humbling for me. I love this company and the construction industry. With our outstanding team of dedicated professionals, I believe we have a lot of exciting work to look forward to and a bright future ahead," he said.

When asked about his vision for the future, Goodfellow's message was simple: to better the company through embracing the principles of continuous improvement.

Chad Goodfellow served as president eight years prior to his appointment as CEO and is a fourth-generation owner in the company’s 97-year history.

"When we improve our company, we improve the industry and make a lasting positive impact," he said.

Former CEO Steve Goodfellow will maintain his leadership role as chairman of the board of directors.

"This is a very exciting time for our company. Chad and his management team have done an outstanding job over the past several years building on our mission to be the contractor of choice for our clients, employees and our communities," said Steve.

Chad also announced new division president titles for the following individuals: Ed Brown, State of Hawaii; Joe Correy, State of Oregon; and Lane Shinnick, Washington State. These individuals join Brian Gates, the existing division president in California.

Each division president is a 20-year veteran GBI employee who has already built vibrant business units in their respective regions. The title change reflects their current responsibilities as they continue to grow and identify new market segments and opportunities for GBI.

"Each of these leaders has earned the title of division president," said Chad. "They represent the values of our company and do a great job building quality work with quality teams and engaging in their respective communities to make a positive impact."

Established in 1921, GBI is a fourth-generation family-owned large heavy/civil contractor with operations in Hawaii, Oregon, California and Washington.

With ten offices in Washington, Oregon, California and Hawaii, GBI's range of projects includes airports, bridges, reservoirs and dams, golf courses, harbors, highways, housing developments, marinas, parks, underground utilities construction services, wastewater treatment facilities, wind and solar farms, fisheries, wildlife habitats and more.
