Irene Nalei Knickerbocker, a sixth-grader at Lahaina Intermediate School, recently donated her beautiful long hair to Locks of Love, an organization that provides hairpieces to patients undergoing treatment for cancer.

On Oct. 17, 2016, the Hawaii Public Utilities Commission approved Sea Link's request to voluntarily surrender its certificate of public convenience and necessity to provide water carrier services between Lahaina and Molokai.

Commissioners acknowledged Sea Link's representation that its financial losses are no longer sustainable, and the PUC cannot compel the company to operate as a water carrier of passengers and property at a financial loss.
