Rotary Club of Lahaina Sunrise to host popular Oktoberfest benefit

October 6, 2016
Lahaina News

LAHAINA - Where can you get authentic Bratwurst, cold German beer, and foot stomping, thigh slapping tunes from an Oompah band, all under a mango tree on a tropical night in October? The fifth annual Oktoberfest on Thursday, Oct. 6, at 6 p.m. at the historic Pioneer Inn in Lahaina is the place to be.

Hosted by the Rotary Club of Lahaina Sunrise, the event will fund a vocational scholarship for a deserving Maui County high school student.

Brockwurst, specially ordered for the event, will be served over beer-braised red cabbage with Guinness mustard. A ginger snap sauce will accompany the Sauerbraten and Hot German Potato Salad; sauerkraut, potato pancakes with sour cream and green onions, apple sauce and German Chocolate Cake round out the menu. The no-host bar will feature Spaten Oktoberfest and other popular beer, wine and cocktail selections.
