Lahaina Town Cleanup slated for Saturday

LAHAINA - The 12th annual Lahaina Town Cleanup is set for 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 24.

Volunteers will gather at Kamehameha Iki Park (525 Front St.) and Mala Ramp before combing the coastline from Puamana to Mala Wharf. Bags and water will be provided.

Passion of Movement Studio will offer free yoga at 8 a.m., and Pacific'O will provide free lunch for the volunteers at noon.

Event to benefit the Lahaina Complex tutoring program

WEST MAUI - Beyond the Rainbow Foundation and People for Educational Equality will stage the Anuenue Gala on Oct. 20, 2016 at the Sheraton Maui Resort.

This benefit for the Lahaina Complex After School Tutoring Program will feature dance music by Jimmy Mac & the Kool Kats.

Two ticket options are available. A dinner-dessert-dance package from 5:45 to 10 p.m. is on sale for $200. The dessert-dance option from 7 to 10 p.m. costs $80. Purchase tickets online at www.Beyond-the-Rainbow.org/AnuenueGala.

King Kamehameha III School to conduct Tsunami Evacuation Drill

LAHAINA - King Kamehameha III Elementary School will conduct its Tsunami Evacuation Drill on Friday, Sept. 23, starting at 8 a.m.

During the drill, traffic will be impacted from the intersections of Prison and Front streets, Shaw and Front streets, as well as the intersection of Honoapiilani Highway and Shaw Street.

The Tsunami Evacuation Drill will conclude King Kamehameha III School's "September is Safety Month" activities.
