LAHAINA – Moku’ula by Moonlight in the fall will feature more Hawaiian music and storytelling on Thursday, Sept. 15, from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.

Presented by Friends of Moku’ula, this cultural and educational program is free and open to the public.

As the full moon rises over Mauna Kahalawai in West Maui, the Moku’ula/Mokuhinia restoration site in Lahaina is in the spotlight as viewed from Hale Halawai in Kamehameha Iki Park at 525 Front St. in Lahaina.

Hawaiian mele, mo’olelo and mana’o mix when popular musicians share the stage with Maui elders who tell their stories about Lahaina.

Entertainers include ukulele and slack key musicians as well as recording artists who perform in a kanikapila-style jam.

As part of the program, special guest speakers talk about current Native Hawaiian issues.

Limited bench seating is provided; blankets, mats and low beach chairs are welcome.
