Holm to lead ‘Talking Trash in the Tropics’

MAALAEA – Ka’analike at Maui Ocean Center is a community-focused program that provides a venue for community members to share their knowledge of various topics with the public.

On Friday, Jan. 15, from 6 to 7 p.m., Capt. Jim “Homer” Holm will present “Talking Trash in the Tropics” as part of the Cabrillo College Clean Oceans International Expeditions 2016 Hawaiian Islands Tour to address the global issue of plastic pollution.

Capt. Homer will also share his knowledge of plastic-to-fuel (PTF) technology that’s designed to convert plastic waste into fuel.

This is a complimentary talk that is open to the public. Ka’analike is held in the Open Ocean exhibit; doors open at 5:30 p.m.
