MAKAWAO – International Music Award winner Patrick “Prahladji” Bernard will perform at 7 p.m. on Jan. 30 at Makawao Union Church.

The show will also feature Bernard’s wife, Hladini, a devotional vocalist and dancer, and special guest Harold Bloomfield, a New York Times bestselling author, presenting “Prayers For The World.”

Long before contemporary chant was trendy, Bernard was inspiring audiences with his powerful devotional compositions based on sacred Sanskrit, Latin and Hebrew writings.

His recordings of “well-being” music have won awards and landed him on the Billboard charts – he was the first Canadian to climb Billboard’s New Age chart.

Since 1986, Bernard has been a full-time producer/composer of devotional music, inspiring audiences everywhere with his sweet and profound music.

Adding to his music collection of 12 records (with five achieving Gold status), he recently released a new book called “Music As Yoga, Discover the Healing Power of Sound.”

Doors open at 6:30 p.m. The suggested donation is $25 in advance or $35 at the door. For more information, e-mail inspired@thekapilainstitute.org or call 878-2108.
