By Staff | Aug 14, 2014

KAANAPALI – Starting this month, Hyatt resorts in Hawaii will feature a special “Hawaii Fresh” menu to highlight and celebrate their relationships with local farmers and producers throughout the islands.

A portion of the proceeds from these menus will be donated to local culinary schools and organizations to help support Hawaii’s next generation of food innovators.

The menus will vary to reflect each island’s flavor profile and feature a seasonal appetizer or entree and cocktail. All major ingredients will be sourced from the islands of Hawaii.

The Hyatt Regency Maui Resort & Spa’s Japengo Restaurant will feature a Lahaina Gold cocktail with Maui Ocean Vodka, Maui Gold Pineapple, Hawaiian chili pepper, lilikoi puree, li hing mui rim and local basil garnish for $12, and Ahi Poke Tar Tar with locally caught Hawaiian bigeye tuna poke, Maui onion, Hawaii macadamia nuts, ogo, tobiko and Dynamite Sauce for $12. The beneficiary is the Maui Culinary Academy.

The Andaz Maui at Wailea’s Ka’ana Kitchen will offer a Southside Fizz with gin, lime, cucumber, mint and soda for $16, and Makawao Farms Chicken with Maui lavender, malasadas and Asian slaw for $32. The beneficiary is the Maui Huliau Foundation.
