Blackburn is a founding member of the recording group Na Hoa and is well-known in the Hawaiian music community.
His debut solo album, "Maliu," is a beautiful compilation of tunes from the islands.
Na Hoa's debut album has been praised for "sweet falsetto singing depicting a nostalgic era in Hawaiian music history, with vibrant voices that captivate one's emotions, ears and heart. Any listener will be held spell-bound by the unmatched harmonies that none but a very few can effectively produce"
