Preschool to host Movie Night

LAHAINA - Children of the Rainbow Preschool at 142 Baker St. will hold a Movie Night on Friday, April 25, from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.

Disney's "Frozen" will be shown.

A concession stand will be open from 6 to 8 p.m.

LAC to hold Golf Classic

LAHAINA - LahainaTown Action Committee invites golfers to its second annual Golf Classic on Saturday, May 3, at the Kaanapali Royal Golf Course. Golfers who participate will have the satisfaction of helping a charitable organization, with a portion of the tournament proceeds benefitting Lahaina Junior Golf.

The festivities will kick off at 8 a.m. with a four-golfer scramble shotgun start. Registration is at 7 a.m. with a fee of $125, which includes a luncheon directly following the tournament with an awards ceremony and live auction. The perpetual trophy was carved by talented woodworking artist Paul Kasprzycki.

LAC President Sne Patel said, "This is a unique golf classic with many merchants contributing to the fun. Cool Cat Caf, Shark Pit Food Truck and Round Table Pizza will be offering ono grinds on selected holes, so bring your appetite and golf skills."

Sunrise Rotary Club to award scholarship

LAHAINA - The Rotary Club of Lahaina Sunrise will award a $2,500

scholarship to a student who wants to attend trade school over a traditional college.

Trade schools include, but are not limited to, culinary, beauty, massage, electrical, mechanic and medical aid programs.

Applicants must have applied to or be accepted to a school, graduated in fall 2013 or spring/summer 2014, show excellent grades, provide letters from three current teachers, and submit an essay of 400-1,000 words on their future plans and how this education will be put to use.

Applications must be postmarked by April 30 and mailed to RCLS- Scholarship, P.O. Box 913, Lahaina, HI 96767. For information, e-mail brandiehen@ me.com.

Easter Egg Hunts set

LAHAINA - King's Cathedral & Chapels will hold Easter Egg Hunts on Friday, April 18, at 8 a.m. at Lahaina Recreation Center, noon at Kalama Park and 4 p.m. at Pukalani Park.

On Saturday, April 19, a hunt is slated at Keopuolani Soccer Pit at 11 a.m.

Learn the story of Easter and enjoy prize drawings. For information, call 643-PRAY.

Art tour set at Launiupoko

LAHAINA - On April 26-27, the Maui Artists' Guild will hold the "Art in the Garden Tours and Sale" event.

Located above Honoapiilani Highway across from Launiupoko Beach Park, clearly marked signs will lead the public to locations that will feature the sale of art and plants, and tours of individual gardens.

The event will be open from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on both Saturday and Sunday.

MFSS benefit to feature Crime Mystery Theater theme

WAILUKU - Maui Family Support Services Inc. will hold its third annual Signature Dinner and Silent Auction at 5:30 p.m. on Saturday, April 26, at the Makena Beach and Golf Resorts' Kaeo Ballroom.

This year's Crime Mystery Theater theme will lead to an interactive evening of answering "Who dunnit?"

Guests will solve the mystery of the evening while raising money for a Maui organization that serves children and families.

Tickets are $75 and can be purchased by contacting Sarah Ward or Leah Neher at 242-0900 or visiting www.mfss.org.

Maui Family Support Services is a private, nonprofit agency incorporated in 1980 to provide early childhood development services to families on Maui.

The agency has provided more than 33 years of continuous service to residents of Maui County.

Its mission is: "to promote healthy family functioning by providing supportive services that build on family strengths utilizing our collective resources toward the prevention of child abuse and neglect."
