Lahaina Galleries will close the year’s “Art Nights” with a songfest featuring Summer Macedo, a Sacred Hearts School eighth-grader, and Shawn McLaughlin, her voice coach and longtime West Maui acoustic guitarist and landscaping architect, from 7 to 8:30 p.m. on Dec. 27 at 828 Front St. An accomplished competitive surfer, Summer is the daughter of Ronaldo, featured artist at the gallery in December, and Jennifer Macedo. Summer will sing, and her father will greet and talk story about his art with gallery visitors. A Brazilian-born Impressionist artist, Ronaldo has been represented by Lahaina Galleries since 1994. He paints scenes of island life and pristine landscapes, and as a plein air painter, he is a key player in the annual Maui Plein Air Painting Invitational.
