KAANAPALI - When David Quandt and his wife, Wyndy, moved to Maui 18 months ago and started looking for property, little did they know that their two dogs would also have a say.

Lot 13 owners, Justin Brunold and his fianc, Alexis Dizon, already had an affinity to Ka`anapali Coffee Farms, having enjoyed walks with their dog for the past two years in this community.
"We were drawn to the views, the peace and serenity, the amount of space and location," said Justin, who runs a property management business, KBM Hawaii, in West Maui.
"The new lot pricing made the dream of building a home in this community a reality for us. We can't wait to start planting new roots here."
Both owners will begin construction of their new homes next year.
The popularity of the Ka`anapali Coffee Farms (KCF) community in West Maui has soared in recent months. In the past 60 days, a total of seven lots have been sold, and KCF total sales year-to-date currently account for more than 50 percent of all vacant land sales in the Kaanapali district.
