LAHAINA - West Maui Counseling Center has expanded hours to include evenings and Saturdays by appointment with Dr. Linda Sattler and Dr. Eliot Altschul.
The center's goal is to make counseling more accessible for all, and Saturday and evening appointments accommodate those who can't make an appointment during weekdays due to work and family responsibilities.
Sattler recently joined West Maui Counseling Center. She also works as a clinical psychologist for the Hawaii Department of Education.
Dr. Linda Sattler recently joined the team at the West Maui Counseling Center in Lahaina.
She earned her Doctorate in Clinical Psychology from Stanford University, where she was trained as a generalist practitioner.
Dr. Sattler's clinical focus involves providing research-based, effective interventions for mood disturbance, anxiety, eating disorders and relationship struggles.
She gained a wide range of experience while completing her clinical training at the Stanford Hospital and Clinics, the Palo Alto VA, and various community mental health, school and university settings. She also conducted clinical research at the Stanford School of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences.
Both Dr. Sattler and Dr. Altschul are Stanford-trained clinical psychologists and work with children and their families, adults, individuals and couples.
The center's staff is also really excited to reach out to more men in the community through a confidential men's group facilitated by Dr. Thomas Chen. The group is slated to begin this month.
Dr. Chen is well-versed at helping with men's personal growth and development. This is the only group of its kind on the island.
