KAANAPALI – Na Wahine Kuilima o ka Leo Kamaehu (Women Moving Forward Together With One Voice of Strength), a division of Starwood Hotels & Resorts, has launched a fall clothing drive to support Ka Hale a Ke Ola (KHAKO) Homeless Resource Center in Lahaina.

The donation will help women in need gain better career opportunities and make a positive impact in their communities as part of KHAKO’s program.

Na Wahine Kuilima is collecting women’s, men’s and children’s clothing on behalf of associates at the three Starwood Hawaii properties in Maui: Sheraton Maui Resort & Spa, Westin Maui Resort & Spa and Westin Kaanapali Ocean Resort Villas.

Donated clothing will be delivered to KHAKO in Lahaina following the Nov. 1-15 drive. The clothing drive is part of a series of community outreach initiatives planned by Na Wahine Kuilima statewide to empower women.

Ka Hale A Ke Ola Homeless Resource Centers Inc. provides basic services under one roof, linking with over 50 human service agencies to provide for the clients’ needs, such as medical, mental health, vocational rehabilitation and financial services.

Clients enter the program through Intake Services, are assessed and housed if administration criteria are met, and as beds are available.

Within six weeks, a client may become qualified for the long-term Transitional Program.
