Emerald City Trapeze Maui to host free weekly shows

The free shows will feature Emerald City staff performing flying trapeze, aerial arts and urban gymnastics.  

LAHAINA – Emerald City Trapeze Maui will perform weekly, free trapeze and aerial arts shows beginning Sunday, Sept. 8, at its facility located at 111 Ulupono St. in Lahaina.

Featuring multiple acts of “cirque” dazzlement, the shows begin at 6 p.m.

From 2 to 5:30 p.m., swing on by and try the trapeze for only $10 a swing.

These “Cirque du Sunday” shows will feature Emerald City staff performing flying trapeze, aerial arts and groundwork/parkour (urban gymnastics).

“September’s show theme is ‘Pirates of the Pacific,’ ” said director and owner Hoku Lani.

“It is a perfect way for families and those interested in the aerial arts to get a taste of the work we do, and what they can learn at Emerald City Trapeze.”

Seattle-based Emerald City Trapeze opened its Maui location in December 2012.

Its mission is to offer trapeze and aerial arts experiences to beginners age six and up and anyone wanting to increase skills.
