KAHULUI - Enjoy a contemporary Hawaiian luau oceanfront and under the stars at "Kokua for Kupuna," Hale Makua Health Services' signature fundraiser, on Saturday, Sept. 28, at 5:30 p.m. at the Wailea Beach Marriott Resort & Spa.
Feature entertainment will include hula performances and fire dancing by Tihati Productions that shares Hawaii's legacy and culture through the art of storytelling.
In addition to a luau dinner, guests will be treated to tropical libations, beer, wine, silent auction and free parking.
Proceeds will benefit Hale Makua Long-Term Care residents who cannot afford the cost of nursing home care.
Tickets are $100 for adults and $1,200 for a reserved table of ten with premium seating, and can be purchased by calling 871-9283 or visiting www.halemakua. org.
This year's theme, "Living Legacies," will celebrate the event's 25th year and recognize individuals and businesses in the community whose commitment to Hale Makua Health Services has helped the organization to sustain a 67-year legacy of providing care to those who have no one to care for them and no means to pay for care.
This year, Hale Makua Health Services will be honoring longtime supporter First Hawaiian Bank. In addition to being a sponsor of this event for the past 13 years, FHB has helped enable the completion of Hale Makua Kahului's 16-bed rehabilitation wing and 118-bed Weinberg Care Center.
Kokua for Kupuna is made possible by the generous support of sponsors: Title Sponsor Atlas Insurance Agency; Major Sponsor Carlsmith Ball; and Supporting Sponsors Ace Holers Golf Club, American Savings Bank, First Hawaiian Bank, Gammie HomeCare, Genesis Healthcare, HFM Foodservice, Hawaii Gas, Kaiser Permanente, Maui Oil Company, MedAssets, Munekiyo & Hiraga, Ohana Health Plan, Servco Foundation, Towers Watson, UnitedHealthcare Community Plan and VIP Foodservice.
