Lahaina-Honolua Senior Citizens Club awards scholarships

LAHAINA - Six members of the Lahainaluna High School Class of 2013 were recently honored with $1,000 scholarships from the Lahaina-Honolua Senior Citizens Club (LHSCC).

These students demonstrated their academic, volunteer and leadership skills throughout the Health Services Pathway at LHS.

They also excelled in the Health Occupations Students of America (HOSA) organization.

The scholarship recipients are, from left: Vincent Magno, Lahaina-Honolua Senior Citizens Club (LHSCC) Scholarship; Leslie Garo, LHSCC Scholarship; Amanda Matsuda, Richard Toba Scholarship; Marella Galace, LHSCC Scholarship; Paige Cajudoy, George Fujiwara Scholarship; and Jenina Pascua, LHSCC Scholarship.

These students were chosen among peers who applied and interviewed with LHSCC members.

Lahaina-Honolua Senior Citizens Club members also donate financial assistance each year to the program to purchase scrubs for the students' clinical and volunteer attire.

Club members raise money by making and selling leis at the Baldwin Home on Front Street.
