LAHAINA - Cilantro Mexican Grill in Lahaina and chef/owner Paris Nabavi recently donated $600 to the Lahainaluna High School Agriculture Program from a fundraiser.

A portion of sales on Cinco de Mayo (May 5) were dedicated to benefit LHS' Garden Program.

Nabavi visited the campus on the last day of school to present the donation to Ideoka and learn firsthand about the program from the students.

Chef Nabavi is a passionate supporter of community efforts that benefit schools teaching sustainable agriculture.

For the past two years, Nabavi has covered the costs for organic seed donations for all of the schools in Maui County.

Additionally, he hosts a monthly Persian cooking class on the last Saturday of every month, with all proceeds benefiting the Maui Food Bank's Children's Cafe.
