KAPALUA – The Pineapple Grill at Kapalua, part of the Cohn Restaurant Group from San Diego, will host a Celebrity Chefs Dinner on Saturday, June 8, to benefit Maui Preparatory Academy’s Scholarship Fund.

“As a local business, we feel it is very important to give back to the community,” noted Chris Kaiwi, vice president and managing partner at Pineapple Grill at Kapalua.

“Having two of San Francisco’s top chefs here for the Kapalua Wine & Food Festival, along with our very own Chef Deborah Scott from San Diego, we felt that putting together this wonderful chefs event will provide our Maui residents an opportunity to experience a little ‘Taste of the Bay Area.’ “

The guest chefs from San Francisco are Gary Danko of Restaurant Gary Danko and Nancy Oakes of Boulevard Restaurant. Also in the kitchen will be Scott and Pineapple Grill Chef Lyndon Honda.

“This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to dine with two James Beard Award ‘Best Chefs in California’ winners. Their award-winning cuisine paired with two hot superstar winemakers will make this evening a not to miss event,” Kaiwi explained.
