Lahaina Restoration Foundation to hold Annual Meeting below smokestack

Lahaina Restoration Foundation’s Annual Meeting will be a great opportunity to view the latest phase of the commemorative brick walkway surrounding the Pioneer Mill Company Smokestack. Installation of the new phase will be completed in time for the meeting.

LAHAINA – Lahaina Restoration Foundation will host its 50th annual Breakfast Meeting on Saturday, April 27, from 8:30 to 11 a.m. at the Pioneer Mill Company Smokestack on Lahainaluna Road.

The meeting is open to the public. Admission is $20.

Registration begins at 8:30 a.m., followed by a breakfast buffet catered by CJ’s Deli. Menu items will include homemade mango coffee cake, gourmet sausages, sweet bread French toast, award-winning breakfast fried rice, an array of styled eggs, MauiGrown coffee and more.

Following breakfast, there will be a short business meeting led by Lahaina Restoration Foundation President David Allaire.

The foundation will award $35,000 in scholarships to 17 Lahainaluna High School seniors and alumni at the meeting. The awards are based on essays the students wrote about the importance of preserving Lahaina’s history.

The agenda also includes a look back at the foundation’s 2012 accomplishments and an update on projects and goals set for 2013 with Executive Director Theo Morrison.
