KAANAPALI - Na Hoku Hanohano Award-winning recording artist Sean Na'auao will perform his classic Hawaiian hits on the Tiki Terrace Restaurant Courtyard Stage at Kaanapali Beach Hotel on Friday, March 22, starting at 6 p.m. Admission is free.
Na'auao can't remember a time when music wasn't a part of his life. His career in music encompasses everything, including composing original songs, producing himself and other artists, singing lead and background, serving as bandleader, promoting concerts and founding the independent record label Poi Pounder.
As a founding member of Mana'o Company, the band that made a huge mark on the local music scene and is still heard on radio today, Na'auao began his legacy of hits garnering radio play and sales.
The free concert at Kaanapali Beach Hotel on Friday will feature Sean Na‘auao’s music and hula by Halau Nawaipunalei.
His repertoire runs from the most contemporary of island music to heartfelt traditional Hawaiian mele.
Traditional and contemporary numbers will be interpreted by the choreography of Pono and Leimomi Murray. The kumu hula of Halau Nawaipunalei have trained their haumana (students) to perform with Na'auao.
