LAHAINA - Hurricane season (the liquid kind) begins and ends in Kaanapali on March 23, when the Rotary Club of Lahaina serves up the classic New Orleans drink at its annual scholarship benefit.
Tickets for the annual Mardi Gras Party at the Royal Lahaina Resort featuring the popular band JD on the Rocks are selling rapidly, President Liz May reported.
The club hopes to raise $30,000 for college scholarships to improve the ability of high school seniors to go the college of their choice, May said.

Tickets for the 6 to 10 p.m. event are $75 each, available from Rotary Club members or by calling May at 5A Rent-A-Space at 669-5200.
