Lahaina Hongwanji Mission to hold Spring Bazaar
LAHAINA - Lahaina Hongwanji Mission will hold its annual Spring Bazaar on Saturday, March 16, on the 551 Wainee St. church grounds from 8 a.m. to noon.
Craft items, rummage, plants, cut flowers, baked goods, assorted sushi and other food items will be available for sale.
The Lahaina Complex After School Tutoring Project last week honored Lahainaluna High School seniors who helped fourth-graders from Princess Nahi‘ena‘ena and King Kamehameha III schools. The students received Achievement Awards and enjoyed a pizza party. PHOTO BY WALTER CHIHARA.

Lahaina Baptist Church to hold silent auction
LAHAINA - Lahaina Baptist Church is holding a silent auction to help Lahaina youth and children attend camp.
The auction is set for Saturday, March 16, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Lahaina Cannery Mall.
Items will include luau, magic show, dinner and activities certificates; ice cream; boat trips; and artwork. For more information, call Nancy at 298-6642.
County awards grants for Lahaina programs
WAILUKU - The county Planning Department announced awards for its new "small town planning" grant program.
For Lahaina Second Fridays, an estimated $5,000 will be used for LahainaTown Action Committee to secure block closures for several upcoming parties. If these closures are successful, private sources will fund them for future events.
Lahaina Restoration Foundation will receive an estimated $18,000 to fund "Experience Historic Lahaina," a weekend event to commemorate the completion of two community-based planning projects: the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration's Museum and Orientation Center at the Old Lahaina Courthouse and the IMAGINE waterfront project.
Office space available at Cameron Center
WAILUKU - The J. Walter Cameron Center at 95 Mahalani St. announced that for a limited time, office space is available at the center for social service agencies on Maui.
The center currently hosts 17 social service agencies that enjoy free rent and pay a low common area maintenance cost that includes electricity, water, free parking and a central office with a copier, mail room, postage meter, fax and other office equipment.

Kahana Canoe Club to begin keiki practice
KAHANA - Kahana Canoe Club will start keiki practice on Saturday, March 16, at Canoe Beach.
Practice will then be held Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays at 4 p.m.
Bring mom and dad and be a part of the Kahana Canoe Club 'ohana.

Maui Style Wrestling to start practices
WEST MAUI - The Maui Style Wrestling season is just around the corner for boys and girls in grades K-8.
The Lahaina Roughnecks will start practices on March 18. Practice will be held Mondays through Thursdays from 4 to 5:30 p.m. in the Lahainaluna High School Wrestling Room. Call Conrad Bolor at 281-0656. The Lahaina Red Raiders will start March 19, with practice set for Tuesdays through Thursdays from 5:30 to 7 p.m. in the King Kamehameha III School Cafeteria.
