Whale watch to support programs

LAHAINA - Lahaina Yacht Club will hold a whale watch on Sunday, March 10, aboard the Kaulana to benefit its Junior Sailing Program, Keiki Christmas and scholarships.

The two-hour cruise will start at 4:30 p.m. at Lahaina Harbor. The cost is $30 per person. The cruise is open to all. Call Diane Sowers at 662-9282 or sign up at Lahaina Yacht Club on Front Street. Space is limited.

Football clinic set

LAHAINA - Registration for a new West Maui Football Clinic will be held on Saturday, March 9, from 9 to 11:30 a.m. at Lahaina Cannery Mall.

The clinic will be for all interested players in grades 6-8 and include in-depth football instruction and guest speakers. The Lahainaluna High School coaching staff will teach fundamentals, dynamic stretching and offensive and defensive techniques.

The program will run from April to June on alternating Saturdays at Lahaina Intermediate School. The cost is just $10, which includes a commemorative T-shirt. Call 250-8298 or 419-8899 for more information.


Hospital to host Diabetes Support Group meeting

WAILUKU - Maui Memorial Medical Center will host a Diabetes Education Support Group meeting on Wednesday, March 13, in the Marion Hanlon Room in the Kahului Tower from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m.

The topic for this month will be "Diabetes Myths & Facts" with Rose Davis. Call Davis at (808) 442-5773.


Social media workshop set

KIHEI - The Maui Economic Development Board Social Media Boot Camp for 2013 will be offered from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, March 9, by High Tech Maui.

If you're new to social media, just getting your feet wet or starting to think about an overall social media strategy for your business, this workshop is for you.
