LAHAINA - John and Dan Cesere are the featured artists at Lahaina Arts Society's Banyan Tree Gallery. Their show, "Caring for Calves: The Art and Science of Understanding Hawaii's Humpback Whales," will be featured in the Old Lahaina Courthouse through March 2.
Beginning their diving careers at the ages of eight and four in the frigid waters off the coast of Maine, John and Dan are now key members of the Keiki Kohola Project, a research team dedicated to protecting Maui's waters as a critical nursery for humpback whale mother and calf pairs.
They use their photography skills to provide details of mother and calf behavior both above and below the surface.
“Caring for Calves: The Art and Science of Understanding Hawaii’s Humpback Whales” features photography by John and Dan (pictured) Cesere.
The artists proudly donate 20 percent of the profits from the sales of these images to the Keiki Kohola Project to support their work here in Maui waters.
Cesere Brothers Fine Art Photography invites its viewers to take a journey under the sea without ever getting wet. The way their images capture the vibrant colors and unique ocean scenery appeals to the adventurous side in everyone.
