By Staff | Aug 23, 2012

Dale and Mamo Nitta have recorded an album, “The Maui Sugar Band,” with Keli‘i Tau‘a. The Nittas currently teach music at Kamehameha Schools Maui.

LAHAINA – Great live Hawaiian music continues on Front Street as the Hawaiian Music Series features Dale and Mamo Nitta on Thursday, Aug. 30, from 6 to 7:30 p.m. at the Baldwin Home lawn in Lahaina.

Dale and Mamo have performed throughout the years at various Maui venues, such as the Sheraton Maui, Stouffers Wailea, Intercontinental Hotel and Sands of Kahana.

During the nighttime performance, the lawn will be adorned with Polynesian artisans and a mini farmers’ market with specially handcrafted items and fresh fruits and vegetables.

Relax under the stars and enjoy the free concert brought to you by Lahaina Restoration Foundation. The combination of Hawaiian music, award-winning restaurants and vibrant shops create a great setting for a perfect evening out on the town.

Chairs are limited; blankets, mats and low beach chairs are welcome. The Baldwin Home Museum is located in the heart of Lahaina on the corner of Front and Dickenson streets.

This concert is part of the foundation’s ongoing Hawaiian Music Series program supported by the Hawaii Tourism Authority and the county Office of Economic Development. For more information, call 661-3262.
