LAHAINA - Lahaina Cannery Mall will host its 14th annual Keiki Hula Festival on Saturday and Sunday, July 28-29.
This free, two-day cultural event will feature halau (dance troupes) from across the island presenting richly choreographed kahiko (ancient hula) and auana (modern) hula that express the traditional values of Hawaii and the Pacific islands.
The weekend celebration also features Hawaiian artisans and crafters demonstrating lei-making, weaving, wood carving and other traditional skills.
Halau from across the island will present kahiko (ancient) and auana (modern) hula at the 14th annual Keiki Hula Festival on July 28-29 at Lahaina Cannery Mall.
Halau will take the stage every other hour beginning at 11 a.m., with the last performance at 5 p.m. each day.
Saturday's lineup includes Hui Lanakila at 11 a.m., Keala Kahinano O Puna at 1 p.m., Te Tiare Patitifa at 3 p.m. and Na Pua Melia at 5 p.m.
On Sunday, Te Tiare Patitifa will perform at 11 a.m., followed by Na Pua O Kapiolani Hula Studio at 1 p.m., Na Kamalii Nani O Lahaina at 3 p.m. and Hui Lanakila at 5 p.m.
