KAANAPALI - The Make My Day Hawaii Foundation will present its first annual Fundraising Golf Tournament on Saturday, July 28, at the Kaanapali Kai Golf Course.
Established in 2002, Make My Day Hawaii Foundation is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit started in memory of West Maui artist and surfer Eric MacCammond.
Before Eric passed away, his "Make A Wish" mission was to meet Clint Eastwood and present him his artwork: a portrait of the actor. Eric died of cancer before that could happen.
After Eric died, Debra Bridgers, his mother, had the opportunity to meet and present Eric's work to Eastwood at the 2002 Maui Film Festival.
After hearing Eric's story and receiving his portrait, Eastwood wrote a personal check to start this foundation and mentorship program for Hawaii's youth to help "Save the Music, Save the Arts in Hawaii."
As a tribute to Eric, the foundation is proud to present this first annual golf tournament.
"We invite you to come join us to play and celebrate a day of fun and prizes in beautiful Kaanapali, and show your support for all our local youth programs," Bridgers noted.
The entry fee is $600 per four-person team. Sponsorships ranging from $600 to $3,000 are also available.
There will be a special early sign-up bonus for all teams that register before July 1. For more information, call (808) 936-9358 or visit www.makemydayhawaii.com/.
