Capturing Motherhood "full-blown," the audience will be treated to stories that are warm, teary, heroic, bristly and ticklish. (Kleenex tissues are customarily passed out at the door.)

Authors this year include Denver Mayor Michael B. Hancock, NYC youth members of Urban Word, Lee Cataluna, playwright Pat Masumoto, Wayne "Shakey" Boteilho, Netta Kanoho, Holly Ann Best, Scarlet Wells, Saundra Gaskey, Jaiia Earthchild, Gary Mekarski and Kazu Iinuma. The Maui cast is typically made up of all-star favorites and first-timers.

The High Tea will be catered by Soup to Nuts on Vineyard Street. Guests are encouraged to bring their own unique teacups and saucers. Donations of centerpieces by Tess Cartwright, known for her fine art creations using Clorox bottles, will be auctioned.

According to Masumoto, "What started out as a 100th year birthday gift to my mom grew into this magical experience for contributors, cast and audience." Pat's mom, Florence Hasegawa of Lahaina, will be 104 years old on May 20.

Admission is $18 adults, $12 for students age 12 and under and free for mothers 80-plus years old when accompanied by family. Admission plus High Tea is $50 with a $10 tax-deductible donation to "Talking Stories."

For reservations, call (808) 214-3320 or e-mail iliwai34@hawaii.rr.com. Visit www.MyMamaMonologues.com for information on the play.
