KAHULUI - A kimono fashion show, taiko, karaoke and Japanese dance performances will be featured at the Maui Matsuri kickoff event on Friday, May 4, at 6:30 p.m. at Queen Ka'ahumanu Center.
Adults and children who would like to participate in the kimono fashion show are asked to contact Yumi Takedatsu at 276-7335 or email@example.com.
Sponsored by Araki-Regan & Associates LLC, the kickoff event will include a children's coloring contest sponsored by Sanrio.
Adults and keiki are welcome to participate in the kimono fashion show on Friday, May 4, at Queen Ka‘ahumanu Center.
The event will conclude with o-bon odori practice around the center stage at 8 p.m.
Bento dinner tickets for the May 11 Matsuri Family Movie Night will be available for purchase.
The purpose of this free event is to raise public awareness on the upcoming 12th annual Maui Matsuri on May 11-12.
