Explore Lahaina’s history at ‘Let the Story Be Told’

LAHAINA – Explore Lahaina’s unique history with Lahaina Restoration Foundation’s “Ha’ina Hou – Let the Story Be Told,” a free monthly event to be held Friday, April 13, at the Baldwin Home and Wo Hing Museum.

Learn the story of Sun Yat Sen, the first president of the Republic of China, with Dr. Busaba Yip-Douglas at the Wo Hing Museum Cookhouse at 630 p.m. Sun Yat Sen is revered by many as the “Father of Modern China.” Discover the remarkable connection between Hawaii and the Chinese revolution through the life of Sun Yat Sen.

Envision the world of Hawaiian warfare and weaponry with Ke’eaumoku Kapu on the Baldwin Home lawn at 7:30 p.m. Experience the art of rare Hawaiian weapons and tools as they were used in old Hawaii.

In addition, LRF’s popular candlelit tour of the Baldwin Home will be held from 6 to 8:30 p.m. A special “Ha’ina Hou” charge of $5 per person for the tour also includes a tour of the Wo Hing Museum. Children accompanied by a paying adult are free.

Ha’ina Hou is held in conjunction with Lahaina’s Second Friday Town Party. The Baldwin Home Museum is located on the corner of Front and Dickenson streets. The Wo Hing Museum is located at 858 Front St.
