LAHAINA - Lahainaluna High School students earned top honors in the seventh annual HOSA (Health Occupations Students of America) District Competition last month at Kamehameha Schools Maui.
Twenty-two LHS students advanced to the state competition, which will be held Feb. 22-23 at the Hawaii Convention Center.
The following students won awards in events at the district contest:

Clinical Specialty - Chelsey Vierra, first place, and Hope Morikawa, second place;
Dental Spelling - Sarah Lauricio, second place;
Extemporaneous Speaking - Ho'o Cabanilla, first place, and Kiersten Gilchrist, third place;
Job Seeking Skills - Julian Bel-Robert and Brittany Treu, second place;
Pharmacology - Paige Cajudoy, first place, and Jen Nguyen, second place;
Medical Assisting - Marella Galace, first place, Reece Sinceci, second place, and Lauren Bedard, third place;
Medical Reading - Jinky Aguiran, Nathalia Haro and Ashley Magno, first place;
Medical Terminology - Haley Nakamura, second place;
Prepared Speaking - Leslie Garo, first place, and Amanda Matsuda, third place;
Sports Medicine - Amanda Arakawa, first place.
