KIHEI - On Thursday, Dec. 1, the entire world will observe World AIDS Day.
Maui AIDS Foundation invites the community to join them "as they remember those who have gone before us and those who continue with us in the struggle."
At Ambrosia at 1913 S. Kihei Road (across from Kalama Park in the triangle), the Commemoration Ceremony will be held from 5 to 6:30 p.m., followed by music with Jessica Rabbitt and Kanoa from 6:30 to 9 p.m. at Deejay La Rage at 10 p.m.
The commemoration ceremony will give participants the opportunity to remember loved ones by offering a red rose in their memory. The gathering will continue throughout the night and give people the chance to share stories and provide hope and support to people living with HIV/AIDS.
The event is open to the public and free of charge. Donations to Maui AIDS Foundation can be made throughout the night to support prevention, care and housing services for people affected by HIV/AIDS in Maui County.
