By Staff | Mar 10, 2011

LAHAINA — Celebrate spring on a balmy, tropical evening with a full moon rising at Lahaina Gateway’s third annual Classic Car Show and “Gateway to Spring” fashion show event on Saturday, March 19, from 4 to 9 p.m.

Lahaina Gateway proudly presents its yearly fundraiser to benefit the Lahainaluna High School Foundation. The event features over 65 classic cars, 1960s surf and classic rock music, Hawaiian and contemporary live entertainment and special merchant spring sales throughout the center.

A new addition this year is the “Gateway to Spring” fashion show presented by the merchants from 6 to 7 p.m. featuring their latest fashions for the whole family. The center has many fashion, sports equipment, footwear, accessories and beauty services merchants, including Claire’s, David’s Happy Nails, FootLocker, Hawaii Golf & Tennis, Local Motion, Mahina, Maui Dive & Surf, Plush Beauty Lounge, Shades of California and Shoe Fetish. Raffle ticket prize drawings will include gift certificates from these stores, as well as from Lahaina Gateway’s many other stores and restaurants. Bring the whole family for this fun event and enjoy dinner at one of Lahaina Gateway’s dining or casual restaurants.

Maui Street Rodders and Maui Classic Cruisers are the featured classic car clubs whose members’ entries will be judged. Winners will receive framed plaque awards. Classic car owners who wish to bring their cars to the show must contact Bill Robinson of Maui Street Rodders at 281-5824 from 4 to 6 p.m., or contact Mort Krajec at 661-3311 or mort@mauiadvertising.com, by March 15. Car registration will be held from 3 to 3:30 p.m. on March 19. Entry fee is $5, which will be donated to the LHS Foundation.
