Foust to lead Maui County Civil Defense

WAILUKU — The County of Maui on Friday announced the selection of Anna Foust as the emergency management officer (EMO) for the County’s Civil Defense Agency.

The newly renamed EMO position was previously known as the Civil Defense administrator.

Foust, 42, previously served as the Maui County Civil Defense plans and operations officer and the director and disaster services coordinator for the Maui Branch of the Hawaii Red Cross.

Most recently, she served the county as the business continuity plan coordinator for the Management Information Systems Division.

“I believe that as Civil Defense administrator, Anna will help Maui County continue to improve its coordination and response during public safety emergencies,” said former Mayor Charmaine Tavares.

“She has shown great initiative and demonstrated her ability to collaborate with our partner agencies and the public.”
