DOT to discuss statewide plan

HONOLULU — The state Department of Transportation (DOT) is holding its second round of statewide public informational meetings to discuss and solicit comments on the fiscally constrained Draft Statewide Transportation Improvement Program (STIP) for Fiscal Years 2011-14 (+2). 

Survey results from the first round of public meetings will be shared, along with details on future steps. Public participation is encouraged at the meetings, as comments received will help to guide the finalization of the STIP.

The STIP is a four-year programming implementation document that identifies state and county transportation projects to be funded, in part, with Federal Highway and Transit funds.

Public information meetings on Maui will be held Monday, Aug. 9, at 6 p.m. in the King Kekaulike High School Cafeteria; Tuesday, Aug. 10, at 6 p.m. in the Kihei Elementary School Cafeteria; Wednesday, Aug. 11, at 6 p.m. at the West Maui Senior Center at 788 Pauoa St. in Lahaina; and Thursday, Aug. 12, at 6 p.m. at the DOT Highways Division Maui District Office Conference Room at 650 Palapala Drive in Kahului.
