LAHAINA — Fight hunger and get healthy at Body in Balance Pilates Studio’s “Food For Fitness” to benefit the Maui Food Bank.
During the entire month of December, bring four canned food goods to the studio and get one class for free.
“The seven most needed items (according to the Maui Food Bank) are canned meats and tuna, cereals, canned soups, meals with protein, canned fruits, rice, and canned vegetables,” said Body in Balance co-owner Ali Bodick.
“Any of these items will count as food goods for our month-long ‘Food for Fitness’ event.”
Although it only takes four cans or boxes to earn a free class, Bodick encourages current and new students to bring as much as they can.
“It’s about giving back to our friends, family and community. We recognize it’s been a hard year for all of us, but we firmly believe that everyone can give something,” said Bodick.
This special food-raiser is open to all fitness levels and allows participants to join any Mat Pilates, Cardio Spin, Yoga Twist Pilates, Circuit Weight Training, Stability Ball, or beginning Pole Dance Fitness classes.
“We provide our clients with a lot of personal attention, so most of our classes have a capacity of 4-10 people. With that in mind, it’s best if you pre-register to ensure you have a spot,” she explained.
