HAMAR, Norway (AP) — Dutch skaters continued to dominate the European Speed Skating Championships on the second day of competition, clinching victories in three of four races Sunday.

Olympic gold medalist Ireen Wust easily won the women's 1,500-meter event in another convincing demonstration ahead of next month's Olympics in Sochi, clocking 1 minute, 54.87 seconds. Russia's Yuliya Skokova was second, 2.15 seconds behind, and Yvonne Nauta of the Netherlands finished third, 2.41 seconds back.

Koen Verweij of the Netherlands finished the men's 1,500 race in 1 minute, 45.69 seconds, 0.23 seconds ahead of Poland's Konrad Niedzwiedzki in second. Zbigniew Brodka, also of Poland, finished third, 0.26 seconds behind.

Olympic bronze medalist Jan Blokhuijsen, also of the Netherlands, won the men's 10,000-meter race in 13 minutes, 7.22 seconds. Verweij was second in that race, 6.23 seconds behind and Belgian Bart Swings was third, 10.19 back.

Multiple world and Olympic champion Martina Sablikova of the Czech Republic became the only non-Dutch winner by clinching victory in the women's 5,000-meter race, clocking 6 minutes, 58.13 seconds. She was 1.19 seconds ahead of Dutch skater Yvonne Nauta in second place. Wust finished third in that race, 5.27 seconds back.

Six-time European champion Sven Kramer, who will lead the Dutch contingent at the Sochi Games, didn't compete in Hamar.
