Children stage Polynesian shows

Napili Kai Foundation teaches local children the history, arts, crafts, language and dances of Polynesia. Every Tuesday evening at Napili Kai Beach Resort, 5900 Lower Honoapiilani Road, NKF students present a delightful program of Polynesian song and dance from 5:30 to 6:15 p.m. Admission is $10 for adults, $5 for children ages 6-12 and free for children five and under. Farmers Market Craft show

Maui Mall Farmers market, crafts, food, arts will be relocating back to the Kahului Shopping Center starting Tuesday February 2nd and will be open four days a week Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays hours 7am till 4 pm. The market has been operating for over 15 years in downtown Kahului and will be returning back to the original location of 6 years ago. Farmers, crafters, artist, baked goods, food vendors are all part of the market which has severed the community over 15 years local farmers and vendors travel from all parts of the island to give the best produce, crafts, available on Maui. At the new location there are outside vendors as well as inside space available. As keeping in the spirit of the island we encourage all the people of Maui to buy local which helps our economy to grow and prosper in this hard times through out the islands. We also will allow any non-profit association to have a space at the market to do fund raisers for their association it is our way of giving back to the community we all love and support.

Group takes walks

HONOKOWAI — A new walking group for all ages and fitness levels meets at Honokowai Park Tuesdays at 9 a.m. There is no charge; all are welcome. Call Jim Grode at 669-1972.

Hula shows set

Free hula shows are held daily from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. at Kaanapali Beach Hotel. Hawaiian music is played from 6 to 9 p.m. Call 661-0011.

Protect Maui’s reefs

Pacific Whale Foundation runs a free Coral Reef Information Station every Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to noon at Wailea’s Ulua Beach. Learn names of fish you’ve seen while snorkeling and how to protect Maui’s reefs. Call 249-8811, extension 1.

Two Rotary Clubs meet

The Rotary Club of Lahaina meets Thursdays at 11:45 a.m. at Outback Steakhouse at Lahaina Gateway. For information, call President Rick Nava at 298-3953.
Leading speakers on topics of interest to residents and visitors appear Tuesdays at 7 a.m. at weekly meetings of the Rotary Club of Lahaina Sunrise. The club meets at the Pioneer Inn’s Snug Harbor Parlor; newcomers are welcome. Call Charles Keoho at 264-5438 for reservations.
